Fighting Insomnia Without Sleeping Pills - August 5th, 2010

Maybe you just feel like you could get better quality sleep. Or maybe you want to fall asleep faster. But you are falling asleep within maybe 30-45 minutes and sleeping pills are not actually going to help you to fall asleep faster. Or maybe, you actually have a problem. But you have seen so many problems with prescription sleeping pills that you are also afraid to use natural sleeping pills for fear that they may very well end up doing the same exact thing! So any way you look at it, at the very least, you want to try more natural ways to achieve sleep before turning to the dreaded pill. That’s fine. I have a few tips, and of course, you can find more on sleepingpillreviews.com.
1. Make your room a sleep only room
Obviously, for couples, it can be used for other purposes. But experts suggest that you do not combine your bedroom with work or other things that might stress or work the mind or keep you up at night.
2. Stop drinking caffeinated drinks at least 3 hours before bedtime
Some have actually gone to the next step, eliminating caffeine all together. Caffeine works up and hypes up the body. And sometimes, the body cannot wind down from this.
3. Exercise in the morning
If you exercise in the morning, you give your body time to calm down and recuperate. It gets your metabolism going at a slightly higher rate throughout the day, helping you to get your day started and lose more weight. But when you get your heart rate going through exercise later at night, sometimes your body cannot calm down enough to go to sleep.
4. Do not drink alcohol around bedtime
Alcohol may seem like a good idea, having a nightcap every night. But honestly, it disrupts natural sleep cycles, and it can actually make achieving sleep that much harder.
